Architectural Elements on Greek Vases Before 400 B.C. (Dissertation)

This dissertation is a catalogue of certain elements of architectural representations on Greek vases before 400 B.C., and an attempt to analyse these elements to discover the possible relationships between real and painted archi­tecture. Only capitals, with columns, piers, and related elements, have been catalogued and commented upon. Basic­ally, the question the dissertation poses is: what can be learned about these components of Greek buildings from the only drawings of Greek architecture which have survived?
